01Race developments
National Republicans are pulling resources out of North Carolina and Georgia to shore up Texas and Ohio. In Georgia, Jon Ossoff (D) has spent $57M on ads with $13M more reserved through Election Day, while Mike Collins (R) has no ad time currently reserved despite $52M in outside-group spending on his behalf. In North Carolina, the GOP's Senate Leadership Fund has $19.5M booked after already spending $30.4M against Roy Cooper (D); retiring Sen. Thom Tillis said the party should reconsider its spending levels with 36 days left. A former NC GOP chair predicted Cooper would win outright. The freed-up money is going toward Texas (over $100M now backing Ken Paxton) and Ohio, where Trump is planning to campaign personally for Jon Husted.
AP wire, Sept 29 · KSATRoll Call's updated "most vulnerable senators" ranking now puts Jon Husted (R) at No. 1, ahead of the field, citing a new poll showing Sherrod Brown (D) with an 8-point lead and reporting that cryptocurrency-industry groups are planning roughly $30M in ad spending attacking Brown.
Roll Call, Sept 30 · Roll CallNothing else cleared the bar today beyond what's already logged in recent issues (Texas Senate spending, Maine Senate volatility, Alaska Senate staff-treatment story).
